Months of intensive efforts with the box, they played for noble cause. Mr. Brazeau looked strong in the first round of the match. But he got several hits from Mr. Trudeau in the second round. The referee stopped the match during the third round.
Mr. Trudeau was sure off his opponent’s hard hits, so to box him out he came out strategically. Mr. Trudeau, said his jaw was left hurting slightly afterwards. MP Trudeau admitted that Mr. Brazeau’s hard hits made him see stars many at times. The senator weighs 183 lbs (83 kilograms), and Mr. Trudeau is a bit taller and weighs 180 lbs (81.6 kilograms). Mr. Brazeau, who has a black belt in karate and served in the Canadian Forces, admitted that he may have got ahead of himself.
The important thing was that they raised lot of money for the cause. The sold-out Fight for the Cure fight, at Ottawa's Hampton Inn, raised more than $230,000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Mr. Brazeau's mother died of lung cancer and Mr. Trudeau’s father, former Liberal prime minister Pierre Trudeau, died due to complications from prostate cancer. Spectators were including cabinet ministers and MP, for the fight.
Well, they did work hard for the cause. They fought for noble cause. I hope our politicians will take lesson from this and fight for noble cause, and not for selfish cause of fulfilling their interests.
