Fishermen discovered Olson’s body at a washout of the Sacramento River two miles south of Beer Can Beach at 10:20 a.m., Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones said. They waved down police, who brought the body to shore. Olson’s parents then identified their son at Scotty’s Boat Landing, a nearby launch point.
The Olsons were contemplating their son at 4 p.m. today, the same time he was last seen alive a week ago, according to their Facebook post. They encouraged anyone reading to pause and embrace someone near them, or send a hug to their son.
“May that bring each of us, and Brett, a feeling of hope, love, peace and strength”
