We live in the fast growing world. Our life is so fast that we forget our close ones. But some people like Barbara Laporte give her time for animals. She is an ardent animal lover. She adopted 3 stray dogs from streets of Mira Road and purchased one bungalow for all her animals. She lives with them happily. Out of 3 dogs, one is paralyzed but still it had not stopped animal angel Barbara to adopt him.
Not only there she stopped, Barbara founded Mira Road based organisation named 'Society for Protection of Animals and Nature'. She is monthly donor of PAWS & recently she sponsored 100 dogs vaccination in Mira Road which is carried out by Team PAWS.
Few weeks before, one pup met with an accident on Diva-Vasai railway track. Locals rescued him & took to Vet. Vet directed them to admit in the hospital. The little pup's both hind legs & tail got cut in train accident. PAWS picked up the pup and admitted it in PAWS Murbad Rescue Center. After 2 weeks of proper treatment, the pup got totally recovered from his injuries and got ready to jump-bark-run. PAWS decided not to send it back to care-taker as it will remain on street although fed properly.
And Barbara came forward to adopt him. PAWS wondered on Barbara's love for animals. It was just recent that she sponsored for vaccination of 100 dogs of Mira Road. Well, that little pup is luck enough to get caring hand of Barbara.
When we saw him last, he was sitting, rolling over, lying down, standing, shaking hands (or paws) and jumping to show his joy and happiness of being with the great lady Barbara.
I do feel India need more compassionate people like her!
