He fought the battle of ‘Cancer’ with a victory sign which he showed at Indira Gandhi International Airport terminal. He was with his mother Shabnam Singh. The man of series for India in 2011 World Cup was sported in a black jacket and a red cap. He has the eagerness to return to the field. But his ‘Prescription for rest’ will not allow him to play in near future. It seems that he will have to be very careful about infections till the time his body recovers completely.
As a best batsman, Yuvraj Singh played a good knocks grabbing victories for India. Besides being a best batsman, he used to be an active fielder too. His unbelievable catches and stops used to make me remember South African active fielder Jonty Rhodes. Indian cricket misses a good fielder in the fields. Even Pune Warriors team of Indian Premier League is missing his presence in the field. He played his last knock in November against West Indies in a test. However his last One Day International was the World Cup Final against Sri Lanka on April 2, 2011.
My message to him is 'Get Well Soon, Yuvi'. We will love to see you on cricket grounds at the earliest, but with fit and fine health and same pace which you used to have.
