Spiced mashed potatoes are dipped in chickpea batter, deep fried to a golden shade and served with mint-coriander chutney or garlic chutney. When Batata Vada is sandwiched between green chutney smeared pav, it becomes a Vada Pav, one of Mumbai’s famous street food snacks.
Vada-Pav for poor
Sometimes poor cannot afford Burgers. They can have ‘vada-pav’ instead of burgers to save their pockets. I do believe, ‘Vada-Pav’ gives you the feel of satisfaction against hunger pain. It should be counted under scheme in foreign countries like ‘Jhunka-Bhakar’ in India. Poor people will love to have it when they are out for some work.
‘Vada-Pav for some coins’
People can start small business of serving ‘Vada-Pav’ in street corners as ‘care for poor’. Either it should be served for free or for some coins. If free then servers can keep the list of the same. On basis of number of people served, government should help them under food scheme. By this, some of them will get business and many will fill their stomach for free or for some coins. Governments of other countries can think on ‘Vada-Pav’ scheme as ‘Care for Poor’.
