Men have around 60% of body weight as water and women, 52% of body weight. Since Women have more body fat, the lower figure of body weight is calculated in women.
Water is vital fluid to many functions in the body. Water is lost from the body as urine, in faeces and by evaporation from the skin and lungs. More water is lost from the skin and lungs in high temperatures, at high altitude and when the air is dry.
